Sanding molding conditions and surface quality

Sand casting is mainly the use of the clay bonded sand as a molding material to produce castings.This processing method has a long history, and is also the most widely used process. In the development of a variety of chemical bonding today, the clay wet sand is still the most important modeling materials which has wide range of applications and large consumption.

The ability to adapt to the molding conditions in sand-casting is very strong and is a feature of clay wet sand. Modern high-pressure modeling, injection molding, air impact molding, static pressure modeling and non-shock vacuum pressure molding and other new technology, are also based on the use of clay wet sand.

Now with the continuous development of its science and technology, the industry's demand for castings continues to grow, while the requirements of the casting quality is getting higher and higher. And modern foundry’ production equipment has reached its unprecedented level of production efficiency.

The castings are generally made up of outer sand and core in sand casting. In order to improve the surface quality of castings, we often brush a layer of paint in the sand and core surface. The main components of the coating are refractory, and have high temperature chemical stability of the powder material and binder. In addition, a carrier and various additives are provided for ease of application.

Steel, iron and most non-ferrous alloy castings can be obtained by sand casting. Due to the low cost of the molding materials in sand casting, the mold is easy to manufacture, and it can be adapted to the single piece production and mass production of castings. For a long time, it has been the basic process in casting production.
